The BECOME Retreat

The Gateway to Integrated Discipleship

Embrace your identity, live boldly, and reflect God’s glory in every area of your life.

Become is not the completion of discipleship.
It is the awakening.

Through Scripture, teaching, and guided reflection, women are introduced to the Discipleship House, which integrates Head (belief), Heart (affection), and Hands (action).

You will leave with:

• Future intensive and curriculum opportunities
• Knowing which area (head, heart, hands) God is asking you to step into next
• A vision for whole-person discipleship
• A defined next step into the Behold formation pathway

The Become Retreat is a two-day, immersive discipleship experience designed to move you from learning into living—helping you step into the life God is calling you to lead and the women He is inviting you to walk alongside.

This retreat is not about adding more to your plate. It’s about slowing down, creating space, and allowing God to form you deeply—so that what flows out of your life is rooted, intentional, and Spirit-led.

Over the course of the weekend, you’ll walk through a clear and practical framework for discipleship—engaging your head, heart, and hands. You’ll explore what it looks like to know God more fully, be formed in Him personally, and faithfully disciple others in everyday life.

Together, we will:

  • Understand the full picture of discipleship and how it actually works in real life

  • Experience personal spiritual formation through Scripture, reflection, and prayer

  • Engage in meaningful conversations and community with other women

  • Identify who God may be inviting you to walk with and disciple

  • Leave with clarity, confidence, and a next step—not just inspiration

The rhythm of the retreat is intentionally unhurried, creating room for both teaching and personal encounter. Each session builds on the next, moving from understanding, to inner formation, to personal commissioning.

At its core, Become is a commissioning moment. It’s where everything from the Behold Path comes together—identity, belief, and life with the Spirit—so that you can step forward and become a woman who walks others home to Jesus.

What Is the Become Event?

The Become Event is the gateway gathering in The Behold Experience, where everything begins. This event is designed to help women live confidently as disciples of Jesus and learn how to disciple other women with clarity, compassion, and courage.

Rather than focusing only on personal spiritual growth, Become equips you to walk another woman through her growth — using the Discipleship House as a simple, biblical, and practical framework for real-life discipleship.

Throughout the day, you’ll learn:

  • How to begin discipleship well through everyday relationships

  • How to cultivate a genuine, Scripture-centered community

  • How to walk with another woman through deeper spiritual formation

  • How to disciple from a place of wholeness, not overwhelm

  • How to recognize the room of the House where you’re strongest — and where God is inviting you to grow

Each session is rooted in the life of Jesus, who models every room of the House — the Yard, the Porch, the Foyer, the Living Room, the Kitchen Table, and the Prayer Closet.

The Become Event will give you not only the vision for discipleship, but the tools, language, and confidence to step into your calling as a woman who leads, loves, and forms others in Christ.

Come ready for teaching, reflection, community, and a powerful commissioning moment called “Called by Name,” where every woman receives a blessing tied to the meaning of her name in Hebrew — a reminder that God sees you, knows you, and sends you with purpose.

Session Highlights

Explore Your Identity and Purpose: Inspire, Equip, and Empower

  • (Crossing the Street, the Front Yard, the Front Porch, and the Welcome Mat)

    Dropdown paragraph:
In this session, we explore how discipleship begins long before anyone opens a Bible. Jesus models a way of living that notices people, listens well, honors their stories, and creates safe spaces for spiritual conversation. You’ll learn how to “cross the street,” engage with curiosity in the Front Yard, welcome others on the Front Porch, and offer the kind of hospitality that naturally opens the door to deeper discipleship. This is practical, relational, everyday formation — the beginning of helping another woman grow in Christ.

  • (The Foyer, the Living Room, and the Kitchen Table)

This session helps you understand how discipleship deepens as women grow in the foundations of faith, share life in authentic community, and gather in small, intentional groups centered on Scripture. You’ll explore Jesus’ examples of teaching, table fellowship, and core-group formation. Through personal stories and practical tools, you’ll learn how to guide another woman from basic biblical understanding to meaningful spiritual friendship and deeper study — all within the beautiful movement of the Discipleship House.

  • The Prayer Closet, Pantry, and Laundry Room)
In this final session, we turn inward — exploring the emotional and spiritual spaces where transformation truly takes root. The Prayer Closet teaches us intimacy with God; the Pantry and Laundry Room guide us into confession, healing, repentance, and restoration. Drawing from Jesus’ tender interactions with His disciples and His rhythms of solitude, we’ll learn how to walk with another woman through the deeper, more vulnerable parts of discipleship with wisdom, gentleness, and Holy Spirit guidance.

Workshops: The Behold Path

Formation Moments: Preparing Your Heart & Putting It All Together

  • Before the event officially begins, this guided workshop helps you prepare your heart, mind, and body for the day. You’ll explore how Jesus forms whole people — spirit, mind, and body — and how the Discipleship House gives us a simple, powerful way to understand our own discipleship journey. This session creates space to slow down, breathe deeply, and enter the day with intention.

  • After the main teaching sessions, you’ll enter a guided time of reflection designed to help you identify where you currently “live” in the Discipleship House. Whether you’re most comfortable in the Yard, the Porch, the Living Room, or the deeper interior spaces, this workshop gives you space to listen to the Spirit, recognize your strengths, notice areas of growth, and discern where God may be inviting you next. It’s a quiet, grounding moment to process all you’ve learned before moving into the commissioning.

  • The day concludes with a meaningful commissioning moment where each woman receives a Hebrew name blessing — a spoken reminder that God sees you, knows you, and calls you into a life of discipleship with purpose and confidence. This is your send-off: a sacred moment of affirmation and identity as you step into becoming a woman who walks others toward Jesus.

What You’ll Take Away

Live confidently as the woman God designed you to be — and help others do the same.

  • By the end of the Become Event, you will leave with:

    • A clear understanding of the Discipleship House and how each “room” represents a stage of spiritual growth.

    • A practical framework for discipling another woman, from first conversation to deeper spiritual formation.

    • Tools to begin and nurture meaningful, Christ-centered relationships rooted in Scripture and the example of Jesus.

    • Insight into your own discipleship journey — where you are in the House and where God may be inviting you next.

    • Greater confidence in your identity and purpose as a daughter of God who reflects His character in everyday life.

    • A sense of calling and courage to live intentionally, love well, and invest in the women God has placed in your path.

This event is designed to strengthen your walk with Jesus and equip you to guide others into His presence with wisdom, gentleness, and joy.

Hear from Meg: Founder of the Behold Collective

Become Event Speakers

  • Stacy is a lifelong learner, writer, and Bible teacher with a curiosity that draws people in and a boldness that asks the questions others hesitate to voice. A high-energy presence, she pours 100% into everything she does.

She loves her family deeply and loves the Lord even more with every passing year. For over 40 years, she has been passionate about helping women know God, often beginning with her favorite invitation: “Tell me your story.”

Stacy recently retired from 26 years of teaching High School Bible, where she wrote her own curriculum and led both domestic and international mission trips. She is the author of a memoir and is currently writing a women’s Bible study for The Behold Collective titled Can I Worship on This Mountain?

  • Meg Elizabeth Brown is a writer, Bible teacher, and Hebrew Bible scholar who loves helping women encounter God through Scripture. She has been married to her best friend, Michael, for 21 years and is Momma to their three energetic boys—Titus, Elliott, and Ezra—and their joyful princess, Alice. She’s often found baking fruit pies or teaching her kids to cook so they’re fully equipped for dinner and dessert duty.

After planting a church in Fayetteville, Arkansas, in 2013, Meg felt a deep pull to study God’s Word more intentionally. That journey eventually led to The Behold Collective, where she now teaches, writes, and equips women to behold their Creator, believe in Jesus, befriend the Spirit, and become who God created them to be.

As she began teaching those who walked through the doors of their church and their home, she realized how much was lost in our English translations. She’s seeking to help uncover what’s behind our translations, as well as bring an understanding of what those ancient texts say about our lives today. In the spring of 2021, she founded the Behold Collective. At the Behold Collective, they look for “Behold Moments” in Scripture and help women apply them to their own lives. They guide women to Behold their Creator, Believe in Jesus, and Become the women that God has created them to be through Bible studies, blogs, and discipleship training.

She is a graduate of Ozark Christian College with a degree in Biblical Literature and a Master of Arts in Biblical and Theological Studies with an emphasis in the Hebrew Bible and Women’s Transformational Leadership at Western Seminary. She’s currently working on a Doctorate of Ministry at Asbury Theological Seminary.

  • Melanie Bedogne is an everyday Christ-follower who longs to invest her life for eternal impact. She’s passionate about caring for people, helping them find freedom in Christ, and cultivating authentic, Christ-centered community. Based in Northwest Arkansas, Mel loves hot coffee, healthy cooking with her family, and meaningful conversations around the table.

For more than 20 years, she has led women’s Bible studies and prayer groups, sharing the practical truths of Scripture and the transformative work of the Holy Spirit. Mel holds a bachelor’s degree in Greek New Testament from Oral Roberts University and a Master’s in Practical Theology from Regent University.

She and her husband, Jason, have been married for 19 years and are raising four beautiful daughters to love God with their whole lives.

FAQs

  • The Become Event is for women who want to embrace their identity in Christ, live with boldness and purpose, and connect with a community of women on the same journey.

Each event in the Behold Experience is designed to build upon the last, but they are also designed to stand alone. You’ll gain fresh insights whether you’ve attended prior events or not.

The Behold Experience is designed for women in leadership and ministry who need prayer support, spiritual community, and biblical teaching regarding God’s leading.

  • No. The Become Retreat is designed to stand on its own. If you’ve attended previous events (like the Become Event), you’ll have special optional workshops to attend during the main sessions that will dive deeper into each section of the House. (See also: Who is this event for?)

  • Absolutely!

While space may be limited, we encourage you to invite others who would benefit from this experience. Be sure they register early to secure their spot.

  • We hope you do! The Behold Experience is designed to grow with each new year, and we encourage you to invite other women to start their journey with the next Behold Event. Keep an eye out for registration details!

  • The Become Retreat is not the finish line. It is the beginning of a deeper discipleship pathway.

At the retreat, women walk through the entire Discipleship House — learning how Jesus forms disciples through right belief (Head), right practice (Hands), and rightly ordered love (Heart). They see the whole house. They understand the framework. They experience the invitation.

After the retreat, women are invited to continue growing through three focused intensives:

    Head of the Home (Orthodoxy)
Deepening biblical understanding and theological foundations. Women move from information to formation as they learn how to study Scripture, articulate truth, and ground discipleship in Christ.

    Hands of the Home (Orthopraxy)
Practicing relational discipleship. Women learn how to initiate, listen well, walk with others, and guide someone room by room through the Discipleship House.

    Heart of the Home (Orthopathy)
Cultivating inner alignment with God. Women develop rhythms of prayer, confession, accountability, healing, and Spirit-led attentiveness so they disciple from overflow, not performance.

Each intensive includes an 8–12 week curriculum with teaching, reflection, guided practice, and community engagement.

    The retreat provides the vision.
    The intensives provide the structure.
Together, they form women who make disciples with confidence, compassion, and clarity.
